Using a Steam Controller, DualShock 4 or a Switch Pro Controller with Dolphin is a lot better. Disabling the configuration support only switches it back to evdev/0/Pro Controller. You can’t just use a switch controller with dolphin or steam because it uses the wrong type of input.
Nintendo Switch, Dualshock 4 and DualSense controllers all have support for motion controls.
